Description: There is frequent and on-going debate with different rationales on when, why, and how to use future tense in policies and procedures (P&P) communication. In this webinar, Raymond Urgo, an authority in P&P communication, will clarify different perspectives and rationales in the debate. He will advise on situations why the future tense is commonly used yet inappropriate; and recommend when and how use of the future tense is suitable. Issues addressed will include myths, unconscious writing, tonality, types of audiences, and the role that external command media (such as legislation, regulations, and standards) plays when communicating an organization’s P&P.

Presenter: Raymond E. Urgo, principal of Los Angeles-based Urgo & Associates, is an internationally recognized expert, thought leader, educator, author, and speaker on the development, communication, and management of policies and procedures (P&P) programs and content in organizations. He is the publisher of the award-winning e-newsletter, The Policies & Procedures Authority.

Duration: 30 minutes including questions and answers (Note: Following this presentation, a representative from Lightext, specializing in training and documentation support for the financial services industry, will present a brief demonstration of RoboHelp features that are helpful in P&P documentation.
