The Policies & Procedures Authority e-Newsletter Receives Award of Excellence

News Release // February 2009

Los Angeles, CA – February 24, 2009 – Urgo & Associates, the leader in Policies & Procedures Communication, today announced that its e-newsletter, The Policies & Procedures Authority, received an Award of Excellence in the Southern California Online Communications Competition.

The competition is sponsored by the Arlington, VA-based Society for Technical Communication (STC), the world’s largest professional organization for technical writers, editors, illustrators, managers, educators and user-experience professionals.

Entries in the competition are evaluated by a panel of judges according to criteria in 12 categories. According to the judges, the e-newsletter “provides an attractive dimension for presenting information in a readable, friendly, newsy way, while enhancing the service provider’s image as a knowledgeable expert in various aspects of this technical communication niche.” They described the colors, logos, and fonts, as “very professional and consistent with the service provider’s branding.” They acknowledged that readers “can find everything they want to know about policies and procedures: trends, best practices, what worked, etc., which meets the being-The-Authority-image goal.”

The e-newsletter promotes Policies & Procedures Communication as a body of knowledge to transform workplace learning and performance. In 2008, the newsletter’s first year of publication, the number of subscribers increased more than 30% worldwide.
